Static assets are optimized on-the-fly with Google Pagespeed and stored in memcached for fast retrieval. Etags and gzip compression are automatically enabled reducing redundant requests.

In a world of unprecedented hacker sophistication, we must all take extra steps to safeguard the integrity of data. Platforms have several deterrents built-in to prevent unauthorized access:
- 3 invalid logins in a 5 minute period results in a 15 minute ban
- 5 page requests in 2 seconds constitutes a DoS and results in a 10 minute block
- File uploads are scrubbed for viruses using a continuously updated threat list
- Certain well-known URIs such as /wp-content are locked down to only serve static content
- Email senders are filtered to reject known high risk IP addresses
- PHP runs as a separate, underprivileged user to limit snooping in the event of unauthorized access. Launchpad includes a learning mode to create a security profile specific to your web site

Reliability begins with the hardware on which a platform resides. Faster platforms, better virtualization capability, and higher RAM densities yield more resilient platforms capable of withstanding the most demanding applications. We only use Dell for servers and Cisco for networking.
Intelligent Resource Sharing
Platforms are built to be nimble. Instead of creating sluggish monolithic platforms with massive configuration files, virtual machines are used at close to bare-metal speed consisting of fewer accounts per VM and smaller configuration files. Platforms bounce back faster with fewer risks. VMs can request additional memory and CPU from the hypervisor donated by neighboring VMs during periods of extreme traffic using our Cloud Resource Scaling Protocol. This added memory is used to offset process pressure that occurs naturally during extreme traffic scenarios.
